It Strikes Me That...

I read an article on Salon about a 20-year reunion. I could write my own speculations, but they're the same speculations everyone makes, I'm sure. It strikes me though, that every minute that passes is a metaphor for the truth that we cannot stop the passage of time. Even my fixation with its passing will not mute or even, perhaps, dampen the surprising revelation that time has passed. It is the surprise we expect the most.
