I am just sitting around in a hoodie and pajamas, which I love. Laundry is going, I'm doing a little light cleaning, and I'm putting on a pot of tasty coffee from Riley's which I had to buy because I really didn't want to drink another cup of whatever my dad buys. I love him, but the coffee comes in a metal drum, and that's basically an indication that you've gone wrong somewhere.

Now, yesterday was a pretty impressive evening in terms of logistics, plus it was a good time. I'm sure there will be people who will regale you in-depth with squalid stories set in casinos, Italian restaurants and dive bars. In all seriousness, the evening was very straightforward, and I believe the birthday girl even managed to tie a few drinks on.

In terms of raw stuff acquired, though, yesterday was substantially bigger then Christmas. I have a few goals I've been saving towards, but when I was trying to determine my next logical move, I opted for the one best for my ego and decided I needed a new wardrobe. When I said 'I'm going to go clothing shopping with my mother', that was technically true, but the scope is a little off. My clothing was shabby when I quit CalJohnson's and they sure didn't get any nicer during my stay in Seattle. If they were just tearing, I'd probably patch them but that wasn't quite the case. My clothing was simply wearing through. Holes appeared in my footwear. If this were Depression-era St. Lou, then maybe I'd just bear up, but I think what I'll do is keep a few pairs just for work projects and throw the rest out. If I won't wear it, I don't think Goodwill will want it, either.

Clothing is cheap right now. I spent well over two hundred bucks, which isn't that hard, but I saved around the same amount and I was able to find a significant amount of pants in my size (28-29 short). 5 pairs of pants, boots, shoes, a dress shirt and to faux turtlenecks (black, gray). Highlight of the shopping experience? Seeing the gray turtleneck has a striped design on the inside of the collar and asking my mother if it was too loud before I thought about what I was saying.
"You need to lighten up a bit." she said. But the joke's on her. I own at least one red shirt somewere.
