If you asked why I disliked my job, you'd get a couple of answers, but looking around lately at least I can say I have one. There's a problem posited by people with jobs they're not fans of that basically says that you're miserable as long as you don't have a job, and you're miserable when you get one. Of course, the other side of this is that in one case you're miserable and you can't pay rent. The distinguishing factor of the latter is even if you're happier not working, it's still better to pay rent then not.

So, at this point, besides being tired and the mediocre-poor pay, one of the issues I was consistantly running into was that the time I had off, which is fairly considerable compared to your average 9-5er, didn't line up with game. The way it looks, I can expect to have half any the weekends in any given month off, but they don't always line up with games. Or maybe I have the wrong weekend day/evening. Normal jobs, you might just switch, but the schedules are fairly hard-set. Of course, I'm covering for the other night op this week and she's taking my Sunday night, so maybe there's hope after all.

Anyhow, the good news is that I'm able to make most every upcoming game that in the next few months with the exception of May's 3rd Sat. Requiem. I was afraid I'd have to get someone to take my place for every upcoming game, but this shouldn't be the case. June is even better, because I'm pretty sure the 1st Friday and the 3rd Saturday nights are both free, making whatever donations/collections done for that month able to be done by me. On the other hand, the 28th looks very shady for me, as I work both morning and night, meaning I'll probably have to sleep through any yard-sale-ing unless I'm very demanding on myself. Since Vi told me how much she wanted to head this up, though, I probably won't make any special effort to attend and just leave it up to her. She's really enthusiastic about the project anyhow, so I'll just chalk this up as delegation.

So, as much as I am not a giant fan of planning these things, I'm glad to find they're going ok and that I'll get to be active for a while. There's the matter of the Wormtongue LARP. Most would-be readers arn't going to know Wormtongue or my fellow associates, since they're not Cam members, and I think only one might have an LJ. Of all the group, I'm both the most prolific online and I have the largest online footprint. OTOH, I've known them all basically forever, and I was specially requisitioned and asked to bring certain books out of storage for the event. I'm told allowances have been made and I've been okayed for a Devil Tiger dharma, which is hard to pass up. It means a lot to them, so I explained I'd go out of my way to prioritize that, so we'll have to see. I know not everyone sees eye-to-eye with me on this point, but it's very hard to say no in this case. I've turned down the last several stories from these guys to go to Cam functions or just rest, so karma is really pulling in a certain direction here.
