I woke up early-ish for me these days and got a hold of the bank first to get my statement and the vet later to inform them that I'm not sure, but the check I wrote them might bounce. I told them to let me know, and I'd make sure the bill got paid, plus any additional expenses caused by my actions. I'd felt stupid, but honestly, I think being open and honest with my dealings with them even though they burned me is both the right thing to do and the easiest thing in the long run. Anyhow, I'm not sure how things will go. My next check will come in and barring any additional expenses, I'll be in the black again. I've asked to apply for overdraft protection, being told that if it's approved, I'll get to re-look it over and ok or reject it, which highly depends on how long I'm in Seattle, since it's not a local bank there.

It turns out I wasn't as stupid as I thought, since the mistake was based on purchases I made when my account said I was far in the positive, but a purchase I had made had been held without my knowledge. If I had balanced more appropriately, then it wouldn't have happened. At the same time, though, it involves money moving in ways I wasn't familiar with before, so it's a costly mistake but I don't think it'll do too much damage in the long run.

After that, my day was pretty much free. I did some idle thinking about a future Exalted game I plan to run, which you'll probably hear about. If you're not familiar with Exalted now, you probably will be soon. Around 6:30, Mikey came 'round to pick me up with my laptop and we headed over to Frank's and played Warcraft III for a few hours. I enjoy the social time, but even though new games are frequently added to the rotation, and I enjoyed quite a few of them, I feel the engine is starting to show its age. Still, it was good for many hours of fun before we decided to call it quits, and made me feel much better about hanging out with 'em. Brian and Frank discovered beer with lime, so they've been buying those lately, and I had the first vanilla Cokes I've had in maybe a year.

I missed a party last week and Brian's get together is on the 14th, and I'd miss that too. I think I'll try to get the day off, first by asking to switch days with the other op, and then seeing if I can swing just not going financially (since it'd mean I'd probably be 'quitting' early). I want to wait and see what the reaction is.

So, um, nothing amazing happened, but it was a good night. Video games, some drinks, watching Boston Legal and getting to talk with friends makes me feel content, and my determination to succeed on my way out and do well is redoubled. Still, there are others I really want to get together with before I leave so we can have some fun. You know who you are. ^_^
