I want to buy a bike. I'll probably buy one today.
My only serious jacket/coat is really pretty long. I realized that this is an oppertunity for hilarious hijinks involving cloth, chains, and spokes, but I hope you'll understand if I'm not terribly excited about that prospect. As winter comes in, and the bike really is a temporary prospect hopefully, (the chocobo to my potential automobile-airship) that's going to make for a chilly bike ride but it'll still be good to have that option.
So, my office environment is pretty pleasent, but there are a few weird things that catch my attention. First of all, only about 1 in 10 lights are on which keeps the office dim or dark all day long. I don't know if this is a power saving device, or scientifically designed to help our eyes, or what. Every desk comes equipped with a built-in flourescent light tube, though, in case we feel strongly inclined to read something. I felt that was pretty strange. Behind me, in the next cube-section over, there's someone that sounds exactly like one of my classmates from training. That classmate sounded exactly like a classmate from one of my college classes. I'm constantly hearing him say something and half-turning to see if someone I know is nearby.
My debit card hasn't come in yet. What the hell is that all about?
Things are coming along pretty well. The place I live is kind of dysfunctional - I mean the actual structure as opposed to the people in it. The toilet doesn't really work well, there's no shower head, the sink has a faucet that really makes me wonder if a plumber didn't confuse it with the shower, and several kitchen implements really only kind of work. The insulation is awful, and my room tends to kind of freeze, so I'm going to look into getting a space heater. You'd think that, upon listing a series of things that go wrong with where I make my home, I'd have issues with it, but I really don't. It's pretty comfortable and it's close to work, so the only real qualm is that it's farther from a grocery then I'd really like. It's well within biking distance to a Starbucks, in that there's a Starbucks close to everywhere.
