I pursue a pretty aggressive schedule during the weekdays as specifically being work days, not just on days when I don't have class but especially when I don't have a class. I don't really have to go anywhere. On Tuesday, Kay's in class on a literal 9-to-5 schedule, so I do 8 hours at least on reading and notes right now, along with some housework.
I'm finishing up Sigmund Freud's "The Uncanny". The essay that the book's title is derived from is probably the best read in the text. Freud always tends to be a teeth-gritting read for me, but at least it's only because he's hopelessly weird about a lot of shit and not because he's especially difficult. Compare with tomorrow's read, Derrida. There's a guy who I'm dead certain got most of his kicks from yanking people's chains.
If I'm talking about what I've actually finished reading in terms of books, this year, so far it's Brian Wood's third book, "King of Men", and "The Uncanny" is going to come in today as number two. Frustratingly, I haven't been able to finish 1Q84 yet, but that's my own fucking fault. Derrida's "Dissemination" (yeah, ew, whatever) is going to be up, too. I'm thinking about writing a bit about the books as I finish them somewhere, but I'm kind of rediculously messy in my treatment of my website right now, so who even knows.
