By the time I found the information I was looking for, the Lupus Foundation of America (LFA?) was already starting to frustrate me. Not that, I suppose, it was laid out badly, or even that the information was terribly hard to find. It just seemed strange that some locations only took money and some locations took items, but even the locations that took useful items like curtains, cloathing, and other non-perishable goods sold those things to for-profit organizations to, presumable, use the money in their operations.
Which seemed odd to me. Everyone I talked to seemed to feel that the way the organization diverted its funds would tend to leave bad tastes in peoples mouths. I doubt there's anything really dubious going on, but I was asked to find a different, more direct organization, and I see no trouble obliging. So, we'll see how that goes in the next few days.
I can't say this is what's got me irritated, though. Vampire's on Friday and Changling is on Saturday, and it's highly unlikely I'll be able to make either one. Vampire is strongly a no-go because I'm working during the whole thing. It used to be that I could just cut out early and I'd still be able to make most of the game, but since they've lengthened my hours, it's become prohibitively difficult. Changling is one of those things that falls under the label "technically possible", but maybe it's a testiment to my decrepitude that I'll probably opt to put in a full day's sleep rather then risk my already fragile grip on The Land of the Self-Aware rather then go.
Sure, a low Clairity might be in character. OTOH, there's something to be said for keeping in-character vices strictly in-character!
Still, going to games is a high priority, so when I do have a free weekend off, you can probably hazard a guess as to how I'll be spending it.
