I've missed all my personal deadlines to work on personal projects - haven't even run my game lately. Both Katie and I have been really tired, lately, but it's probably a combination of early mornings and stress. Even though the funs stuff hasn't been getting done, we've been hitting local business gatherings and shaking hands, and we're probably going to sign our first contract in the next few days.

That's a real relief. It's really good for the ego, I guess? For a little while, I had been afraid that I was just a plus one on this venture, so I've doubled down on looking for work pretty much anywhere. Holiday seasonal work is pretty much the worst, because you work the toughest part of the year then you typically get jettisoned afterwards, but it's also a pretty lean time for me. I've been told by a few places to expect a call, and I have to say that I appreciate the work for what it is. In any case, Katie's said that my previous experience with the local business groups and my comfort level with them has proved to be incredibly useful for navigating the learning curve of the networking side of the business. That's good for me to hear, since it's been a little rough, lately.

After Monday's business meet and greet, we had to run some errands, but we stayed out a little later because it was free movie day at the theatre. By which I mean that Katie has a movie vip card that was free to sign up for, and if you have one, they pretty much just let you in. We had heard Looper was a pretty solid flick, and I'd have to agree. It's well put together, treats the audience with respect while still being comprehensible, the actors put on good performances, and it doesn't lose my attention (though it does bog down for a little while in the middle, it's pretty minor). It was fun to watch, and had a few neat little twists and turns, so I'd recommend it.

tl;dr - I'm a little dead right now. My distaste for business meetings knows no bounds, but that's what I'm doing right now. Hopefully, this business will pick up a little and we'll get one or two more contracts next month. That's literally all it takes for us to make our ends meet, not to mention all the little stuff we can do for locals. I dunno. It's be nice not to be so hand to mouth.
