No, man, you're really not the only one. Not by a long shot. And you're probably not even wrong about the reality of getting tenured work in the field. It's a really bad time for it, and I don't really have any illusions about the nature of the work, but it's like the joke about food in a prison camp - "It's terrible, and there's never enough of it."
