My resolutions, as it were, are extremely limited in number. Kay and I are making concrete steps to make our house more environmentally and financially healthy, and I'm going to do even better on my class work then I did last semester - especially now that I've got my feet, I'm feeling very optimistic.
I've been looking forward to today in the way that a person who likes his job is looking forward to going back to work after a vacation he really deserved. I've spent much more time relaxing then I remember doing since maybe before I got laid off several years ago. I know I wasn't working for almost a year after getting laid off at Tek from the Boeing contract, but there wasn't any relaxation there. It'd be great if I got to see some friends before things get hairy again at school, so we'll see, but in terms of straight-up relaxing and revelry, I've got enough quantity banked for the next semester.
I have three classes coming up next semester, as I may have noted. I'm most looking forward to Digital Media Literacy with Prof. Matthew Johnson. I'm very much looking forward to my other two classes, as well, but Digital Lit is very close to my intended focus and Prof. Johnson is similarly focused in an environment where this is still not especially common.
Because I still have time before courses begin, though, I'll be laying out a pretty healthy amount of groundwork I can do now that'll create a really solid platform to work from in the semester ahead. I feel like the work I'm doing in the next few days is going to build on concepts I had at the beginning of Fall semester that helped me organize my thoughts, so if it's even a little more successful it will be a pretty significant boon.
