Writing's felt snagged the last few days, but I got to go to the Bowie symphonic at Powell Hall yesterday, which was exciting and decidedly fun. St Louis has an amazing symphony, actually, and I really enjoyed the conductor - a guy named Brent Havens - but there were times I felt that the rock element weirdly overshadowed the symphonic element. I'm not a classical music guy in the sense that I don't know too much about classical music in general, but I felt like they could of pulled from Bowie's wider catalog of work where there are some songs that are really well suited to a symphonic arraingment and instead the rock element just kind of... played over them. The singer kept telling us some anecdotes that it sounded like he cribbed from Wikipedia, and it was pretty heavy on 70's and early 80's singles - but it was still a good time. Got a call from a friend about it today, actually - he'd gone and I didn't even see him, which was kind of a shame. It sounded like he had a really enjoyable time, too so, you know, good stuff.

We've had a guest over the last few weeks, and our place isn't really well suited to accommodate a long term vistor, so it's been a bit cramped. I haven't really minded, and they've been easy to have at the place, but how well it went actually shows me how poorly suited the house is to having another roommate for any duration; that things went so well but I'm still completely exhausted and things are so cramped indicates that even a best case scenerio is a no-go. Still, they're planning on moving into the area from the west coast, so we've been showing them around a bit, and business seems like it should be good on that front. Money's tight until work starts for Kay, so I'm trying to focus on work when I'm not completely exhausted.

I'm looking forward to working on Exalted stuff - fall at the earliest, and hopefully I'll be able to make that work. My plans aren't so ambitious for Exalted, to be honest. It's a clean slate - what I'm hoping to do is lay a fun, colorful foundation for long term gaming in 3e.
